Explore an island whose mountainous countryside holds deep-rooted traditions that are more than what meets the eye. The mini travel documentary, Up Country, journeys into the interior of the Caribbean island of Grenada, to observe culture and tradition as a fly on the wall by exploring three unique perspectives. First; the adventures of kids that use nature as their playground, then of a family matriarch that practices the age-old tradition of making charcoal, and finally, the dark history of the country’s most notable carnival tradition, ‘Jab Jab’. Intertwined with interviews that speak to growing up on such a culturally rich island, Up Country is a snapshot of local life in ‘paradise’.
