Alicia K. Harris is a filmmaker from Scarborough, ON (Toronto, Canada). Her latest short film, PICK won Best Live Action Short at the 2020 Canadian Screen Awards (Canada’s equivalent to the Academy Awards), making her the first Black woman to win. Her films have been broadcast nationally on CBC, TVO, Bell Fibe TV, and at numerous festivals, including TIFF Next Wave and Miami Film Festival, where PICK won BEST SHORT FILM. Alicia is dedicated to sharing the unique stories of Black women and the underrepresented, and is passionate about making stories that will have a lasting impact on youth.
