SheCreates Caribbean Lab Introduces 2025 Filmmaking Cohort

One Region. Six Women. A Caribbean collaboration bringing stories from script to screen.

St. George’s, Grenada — Mprojekts Creative Group proudly announces the inaugural cohort of the SheCreates Caribbean Lab, a groundbreaking program that merges traditional and immersive filmmaking to support women storytellers across the region.

Selected from a competitive pool of 88 applicants, six emerging and mid-career filmmakers will participate in a 12-week hybrid lab that takes bold Caribbean stories from concept to screen. The program culminates in the production of three immersive short films, shot on location in Grenada and premiering at both the 1261 Film Festival (Grenada) and Nouveaux Regards Film Festival (Guadeloupe).

The SheCreates Caribbean Lab is led by Grenadian filmmaker and 1261 Film Festival founder Meschida Philip and supported by Priscilla Delannay, co-founder of Nouveaux Regards in Guadeloupe. It is an initiative of the Caribbean Creative Program, supported by UNESCO, CARICOM, the University of the West Indies (UWI), and funded by the ACP-EU Culture Programme under the European Union.
