Six women. Three films. One region.
The SheCreates Caribbean Lab has unveiled its inaugural cohort., six women filmmakers from across the Caribbean selected to develop and produce three immersive short films over 12 weeks. Spanning scriptwriting, in-residency production in Grenada, and post-production, the Lab blends traditional and immersive filmmaking. Premieres are set for the 1261 Film Festival (Grenada) and Nouveaux Regards (Guadeloupe).
An initiative from Creative Caribbean, backed by UNESCO, CARICOM, UWI, and funded by the ACP-EU Culture Programme, and led by Meschida Philip and Priscilla Delannay, this initiative marks a bold step for Caribbean women in film.

The SheCreates Caribbean Lab is a groundbreaking 12-week residency designed to empower Caribbean women in film and digital media through immersive storytelling and AI innovation. A bold collaboration between Grenada and Guadeloupe, the lab brings together women creatives from the English-, French-, and Dutch-speaking Caribbean and diaspora to explore new storytelling frontiers and build lasting industry connections.
Led by Meschida Philip of the 12°N, 61°W Grenada Film Festival and Priscilla Delannay of Nouveaux Regards Film Festival, SheCreates is more than a lab—it’s a regional movement advancing gender equity, cultural preservation, and creative collaboration.
Applications are now open. The program is free to apply, and accommodations are provided for participants during the in-person residency in Grenada.
